Democratic Pacific Union atau DPU untuk tahun 2008 ini memberikan beasiswa untuk studi di Taiwan. Aplikasi beasiswa ini telah dibuka dan akan berakhir pada 31 Maret 2008.

Berikut persyaratan untuk aplikasi beasiswa DPU 2008:

Siapa saja yang boleh aplikasi?
Semua calon mahasiswa terbaik dari negara anggota DPU (Indonesia salah satunya) diperbolehkan aplikasi beasiswa DPU untuk program Master atau Doktoral di Taiwan.
Calon mahasiswa berkewarganegaraan Taiwan tidak diperkenankan.

Apa saja persyaratannya? dan Apa saja yang harus dilampirkan dalam aplikasi?
1. Calon pelamar harus berkewarganegaraan dari salah satu negara anggota DPU. Pelamar sebaiknya direkomendasikan oleh:
a. Delegasi dari negara anggota DPU, atau
b. Anggota konggress/parlemen dari negara anggota DPU, atau
c. Kedutaan Besar, Konsulat, atau Kantor Perwakilan Taiwan di negara anggota DPU, atau
d. Kantor Sekretariat International DPU, atau
e. Rektor universitas di Taiwan atau universitas dari negara anggota DPU, atau
f. Mengusulkan secara perorangan.

2. Kemampuan bahasa Inggris: pelamar yang bukan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasanya harus menyerahkan 1 copy nilai TOEFL.

3. Pelamar melampirkan 1 copy ijazah sarjana (untuk aplikasi program Master) dan copy ijazah sarjana dan master (untuk aplikasi program Doktoral). Bagi calom mahasiswa yang belum akan menerima ijazah sebelum bulan September 2008, harus menyerahkan surat keterangan lulus dan surat keterangan bahwa ijazah akan segera diberikan dari universitas.

4. Beasiswa ini diperuntukan bagi calon mahasiswa yang aplikasi program Master atau Doktoral di Taiwan.

5. Pada waktu yang bersamaan dengan aplikasi beasiswa ini, Calon mahasiswa seharusnya aplikasi program Master atau Doktoral ke universitas di Taiwan.

Berapa besarnya beasiswa yang diberikan?
1. Beasiswa program Master: diberikan untuk waktu 2 tahun sejumlah NTD30000 tiap bulan.
2. Beasiswa program Doktoral: diberikan untuk waktu 3 tahun sejumlah NTD30000 tiap bulan.

Beasiswa ini untuk biaya tuition fee dan living cost. Jadi bagi penerima beasiswa ini, hendaknya memperhatikan berapa tuition fee dan biaya lainnya yang harus dibayarkan ke universitas. Tiap universitas memiliki tuition fee yang berbeda. Penerima beasiswa juga akan mendapatkan biaya tiket pesawat pergi dan pulang untuk kelas ekonomi dari Jakarta ke Taiwan (Taoyuan International Airport atau Kaohsiung Internatioan Airport).

Berapa kuota beasiswa DPU 2008?
Untuk tahun 2008 ini, beasiswa DPU diperuntukan kepada 26 calon mahasiswa terbaik dari semua negara anggota DPU.

Four one-year scholarships, each valued at $1500, are available from the UQ Business School and School of Tourism to be awarded to outstanding Australian and International students who are admitted to the Bachelor of Business (BBus) at the UQ Ipswich Campus in 2008.

Basis of Award
• Criteria based on Year 12 Overall Position, or international equivalent. Interviews may be required;
• Personal statement regarding high school involvement and community involvement;
• Personal reference from Principal, Head of Year, or other teacher; and
• Previous study of business, business communication, commerce or computing, hospitality, sport, travel, tourism at school or college is not a requirement for enrolment in the Bachelor of Business, nor for application for the scholarships.

Eligibility
All of the following items must be satisfied;
Applicants for MPSS must hold a degree from an accredited institution comparable to the bachelor degree offered at the University of Tokyo, or are expected to obtain such a degree by March 31, 2008.
Those who do not hold a Japanese nationality, and currently do not live in Japan.
In good health
Applicants must not have been expelled from Japan in the past.
Applicants should agree to enter the program principally between April 1st and 7th, 2008, when accepted.
Applicants must not be awardees of scholarship sponsored by other facilities, such as Japanese Goverment, a private cooperation or your own government, etc.
Applicants are not allowed to apply for 2008 MPSS with other scholarship nor any other 2008 master's programs at Graduate School of Frontier Sciences.

Official Academic Transcript or attested photocopy from institute previously attended. If you have changed your university, include a transcript from the former university or college. These need to be translated to English.
Official certificate of degree or attested photocopy of diploma. This needs to be translated to English. (If you are an on-going student, please include an official letter or certificate of expected graduation.)

TOEFL Score sheet
The following applicants are exempted from submitting a TOEFL score sheet.
Those who graduated from a university or a graduate school located in a country where English is the native language.
Those who completed an undergraduate degree program or a Master's program offered in English. If you fall in 2, please include a certificate showing the program you previously attended was English-medium.
Those who submit evidence by any means that the applicant has a capability in English equivalent to those described in item 1 or 2.

Conditions of the Scholarship
The University President's scholarship covers all essential expenditure for your study at the University of Tokyo, including entrance fee, tuition and monthly subsistence allowance of 160,000 JPY for living expenses.
The subsistence allowance of 160,000 JPY is determined based on the amount given by the Japanese government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) or "Monbukagakusho") scholarship and is subjected to change upon notice according to the MEXT policy.
The duration of the scholarship is 24 months between April 2008 and March 2010.
The air ticket from home country to Japan will be arranged and paid by the university. The air ticket from Japan to home country will also be arranged and paid by the university on application, only if you return to your home country in March, 2010, after completion of the program.
The scholarship discontinues if any of the conditions below apply:
Making false statement on your application form
Being reprimanded or judged unable to continue research work at the university due to lower academic capability.
Being withdrawn or expelled from the University of Tokyo
In case of changing a major, program, department or institution after enrollment.
The scholarship will not be paid during a long leave of absence or long-term overseas field work.
